As the nature of retail shopping changes it has an impact on how communities are built and how people come together.

While the pandemic saw a surge in online shopping, in-person shopping is back to pre-pandemic levels, but the experience is changing – there is a shift away from central business districts to more local shopping, there’s a transformation of regional malls into mixed-use communities, and as large format retailers leave the market, new diverse and technology focused entrants are taking their place.
