Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies' Auxiliary of CIBPA was founded in 1952 by Jackie Rosati. The original members of the auxiliary were women of Canadian Italian heritage and spouses of the first CIBPA members who volunteered to help Italian immigrants settle in Canada. Today the Ladies' Auxiliary is a registered non-profit charitable organization with members from all walks of life. Many of the members have active careers and businesses of their own, generously sharing their time and resources to support worthwhile causes.

The ideals of the founding members of the Ladies' Auxiliary continue to serve as their mandate today: charity, sisterhood and giving back to the community.

Events + Causes

Moda In Motion has been an annual signature fashion event for the Ladies' Auxiliary since 1982. It has grown from a small production in the Boccaccio Restaurant, Columbus Centre featuring furs and modeled by it's own members, to garnering an audience of over 800.

Each year the association selects a cause to support. Past charities who have received thousands of dollars from their fundraising efforts include:

  1. Canadian Marfan Association
  2. Villa Colombo Home for Seniors
  3. Muscular Dystrophy Association
  4. Prader-Willi Syndrome
  5. Thalassemia Foundation of Canada
  6. Friuli Long Term Care
  7. ALS Association
