Bond of Strangers – The Operations Husky Story is a compelling documentary by Director Max Fraser commemorating the anniversary of Operation Husky. The film explores the bonds of friendship that form among people who have never met as they undertake an arduous 300 kilometers trek through the mountains of Sicily to honour the sacrifice of Canadian soldiers during WW II. They have one thing in common — a determination, for some, to walk in the footsteps of their fathers, seeking to learn something important that their dads never talked about. Some Canadian soldiers of Italian heritage died trying to liberate Italy while their fathers were interned in Petawawa.
